John treasured this toy long ago, and with great pride and joy he passed it down to his eldest son. His eldest son demolished the toy. But Cory still loves it. He doesn't really play with it anymore because he's afraid pieces might fall off, but he has it on his bed and sleeps with the thing.
So...do I toss it while he's at school and hope he doesn't notice, allow him to say good-bye and be the one to lovingly throw it away, or do I just let him keep holding on and treasuring this crumbling family heirloom?
